MATERIAL IMPERMENANCE
MEMORY LANDSCAPES
A study of life in hindsight
I always like to keep my work fresh and creative, despite using my past life experiences and memories forming the inspiration for my compositions. Creating this collection is an ongoing project, it pushes my technical abilities and illustrative styles into new areas using present emotions to inspire stories and scenes from my past. If you'd like to see more, get in touch or go to my exhibitions page to see where I will be showing this work.
DREAMSCAPES
A 2D illustrative journey
Working on a 2 dimensional surface Laura explores themes on a new platform. Working by building stories through a depth of layers on the canvas. Retaining a vivid palette Laura's recognisable style translates well. With a new freedom of mark making possibilities by working on canvas the landscapes take on a new energy and her trademark use of forced perspective takes on a new life.

Atmospheric Landscapes
This collection from Laura Manners, Material Impermanence, explores the loss of value of once treasured man-made structures and possessions. The series focuses on everyday objects in everyday environments. It is often the case that even our most valued possessions are eventually abandoned to nature. Through this collection, I attempt to use photography as a unique and creative tool with which to explore the melancholy within this.
